For the past 4 years, NEXT’s focus in Costa Rica has been in the southernmost province of Puntarenas. Since 2007, NEXT has served alongside our Church Planting Partners, Carlos and Xinia Rojas to help pastors plant churches in cities around the capitol city of San Jose, situated in the heart of the country, as well as in the northern provinces of Alajuela and Guanacaste.
As native Costa Ricans, Carlos and Xinia are very well connected and respected throughout the country. Through this partnership, NEXT is helping to start and strengthen churches in areas where there is a little to no gospel witness. One of our partnership objectives in these regions is also to help unite the existing evangelical churches in vision and purpose.Costa Rica Trips
On the northern coast of the island of Hispaniola, which is shared by Haiti and the Dominican Republic, is the city of Puerto Plata. The people of the Puerto Plata represent a unique mixture of the past and present. Their land has traded hands between the French and Haitians, the Dutch and English, and has been influenced by people from the Middle East. The Dominican Republic is truly a “global village” in terms of its people and cultural mix. Puerto Plata is primarily a tourist destination, but it is also home to approximately 200,000 people.
In 2016, NEXT began a partnership in Puerto Plata with Mashach Ministries. Alex and Aty Hasbun lead Mashach Ministries and work in Puerto Plata and the surrounding areas to expand the Kingdom of God. They are sensitive to meeting not only the physical needs of the people who live in their communities, but also providing for their spiritual needs. Through weekly discipleship classes they are training leaders to start churches in areas that need the gospel.Dominican Republic Trips
NEXT’s focus in Ecuador centers in and around the city of Quito. We are in our 6th year of partnership with a missionary named Ron Sutton. The city of Quito has opened a new airport on the plateau located just outside of the city. Ron’s objective is to establish churches in this area now so that in the next several years, as this area grows, there will already be churches ready and waiting to meet the spiritual needs of the people moving there. In addition to working on the plateau, NEXT is also working in the northeast and southeast areas of Quito to plant and strengthen churches where there is little to no gospel witness.Ecuador Trips
The Mayan civilization flourished in Guatemala during the first millennium A.D.. Because of that influence many people in Guatemala consider themselves Mayan first and Guatemalan second. Guatemala is rich in culture and diversity. There are over 23 distinct languages other than Spanish spoken in Guatemala, but Spanish is the primary language.
NEXT Worldwide partners with Fellowship Guatemala to train leaders and plant churches in and around Guatemala City, Antigua and Chimaltenango. Fellowship Guatemala is led by Daniel Bran, whose vision is to plant churches that transform communities through the gospel in five areas: health, technology, sports, small business and education. In Kenya, NEXT partners with our national church planting leaders Daniel Kinuthia Kamau, Isaac Munji, Kepher Luhombo, and Rodgers Unda.
Much of NEXT’s focus has been in the South Coast province, helping plant numerous churches since 2007. In 2013, in addition to continuing our work on the coast, we began working with Rift Valley Fellowship.
This has proven to be a strong partnership in the Rift Valley area. These church planting leaders are now working together to develop discipleship training centers to raise up more church planters who will plant churches throughout Kenya and other parts of East Africa.Kenya trips

NEXT works with a church called Redemption City Church in Little Haiti, Florida; a city at the heart of Miami. The pastor, Jeremiah Taylor, and his family moved to Little Haiti, Florida in 2013 in order to plant a gospel-centered church in a vibrant community filled with people from all over the world.
This is our first year working in the city of brotherly love. We are partnering with Chuck Kieffer and the Foundry Church. Chuck pastors the Foundry and has a heart to reach the communities in and around the areas of Wallingford. It is a very diverse area with many kinds of people; young artistic twenty-somethings, university students, young families, refugees and the extremely poor. Chuck and his team have a variety of ministries in which they both present and live out the gospel. There is a great need for establishing more churches and meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the people in these communities.

There are hundreds of communities along the Texas/Mexico border that have few churches and little to no gospel witness. The people living in these “colonias” are very poor and have great needs both physically and spiritually. NEXT is partnering with the Valley Baptist Missions Education Center to help plant and establish churches that are committed to reach the people in these communities. Through evangelism, VBS, sports camps, construction and other ministry projects, lives are being changed!
